Sample Multi Commodity Bulk Terminal

The Oakland Bulk and Oversized Terminal (OBOT) is a state of the art, rail-served trade and logistics facility for bulk and manifest cargo. OBOT will create a modern commodity export terminal that will solidify Oakland’s reputation as a major deep-water port and trade center for American resources and goods. Using this operation to correct existing inefficiencies will decrease drayage costs, improve efficiency for customers’ logistics supply chains and help position Oakland to gain a significant amount of commodity and intermodal growth. OBOT will occupy approximately 46 acres of the westernmost portion of the former Oakland Army Base, and will house two commodity storage facilities with over 300,000 square feet of space. OBOT Phase 1 will be built upon 21 acres of city-owned land on the West Gateway Terminal, with two 42-foot deep-water berths capable of accommodating Panamax vessels.
