Berlogar, Stevens & Associates
Experience
Berlogar Stevens & Associates (BSA) is a full-service geotechnical engineering firm that is owned and staffed by experienced professional engineers, geologists, field technicians and special inspectors. We maintain a full service laboratory in Pleasanton and a branch office/laboratory in Salida, California. Our laboratories are CCRL, AMRL, AASHTO, and LEA certified. The firm was founded as Berlogar, Long and Associates in 1973 on the principle of providing high quality geotechnical engineering and engineering geology consulting services. BSA is known for its common sense solutions to complicated geotechnical issues.
BSA has been providing geotechnical engineering, testing, and inspection services for over 30 years. We have provided geotechnical services on over 3,500 major subdivisions, commercial property developments and civil engineering projects throughout northern California and Nevada. These include the 700-acre Alameda Point (a redevelopment of the former Alameda Naval Air Station) in Alameda, California, the 315-acre University Villages (a redevelopment of the former Fort Ord Army Base) in Marina, California, and the 300-acre Delta Coves project on Bethel Island in Contra Costa County, California. BSA has also provided geotechnical investigation and construction services since 1988 for the various phases of development on Dublin Ranch, a new community in East Dublin. Some of our larger commercial developments include Vintage Park (115 acres) project in Foster City, Bayside Technology Park (250 acres) in Fremont, Bayside Business Park (250 acres) in Fremont, Northshore Business Park in Hercules, and Gateway Business Park in Tracy. Typical civil engineering projects include water tanks, bridges, large retaining structures, sports parks, schools and quarries. Other areas typical of large projects on which we have worked are located in Oakland, Hayward, Fremont, San Jose, Concord, Antioch, Fairfield, Vacaville, San Francisco, South San Francisco, Millbrae, San Mateo, Novato, Tracy, and Tonopa, Nevada.
Role in the Project
BSA is providing a Master Plan Level geotechnical investigation and consultation for the project. Our scope of services currently includes reviewing existing available geotechnical information at the site, performing subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, geotechnical analyses and preparing engineering reports. The purpose of our geotechnical investigation is to identify geotechnical and geologic constraints at the project site and evaluate appropriate mitigation measures. We will also provide geotechnical input to the extent appropriate for the Master Plan Level investigation.
